Jörn Mehnen is Professor in Advanced Digital Manufacturing in the department of Design, Manufacturing and Engineering Management.
Jörn is Co-I in the EPSRC Made Smarter Innovation - Research Centre for Smart, Collaborative Industrial (EP/V062158/1, £4.8m). He is Co-I in the NIHR/EPSRC funded project SEISMIC-SHIFT which uses a systems approach to propose radical change to the way NHS interacts with its services.
Until 2025, he was Strathclyde University Coordinator of the Advanced Manufacturing and Materials (AMM) Theme. He leads the Sustainability Theme at SRPe (Scottish Research Partnership in Engineering). He is the DMEM co-lead of the Robotics and Autonomous Group. As PGR-lead he is coordinating 100+ PGR students across DMEM, the AFRC, and NMIS.
