Public Map Platform

University of Cambridge, Cardiff University and Wrexham University

Prof. Flora Samuel, University of Cambridge, Prof. Scott Orford, Cardiff University and Prof. Alec Shepley, Wrexham University

Public Map Platform is developing an online map to help local authorities and their communities’ picture what is happening in a place as a basis for informed decision making in planning and local action on climate change.

The PMP has been developed in response to the Welsh Government’s need to operationalise the Future Generations Wales Act (FGA) as well as the Isle of Anglesey County Council’s need to align its activities and performance with the FGA but it is scalable for use elsewhere. While continuing work on a deep mapping of Anglesey Phase 2 will enable the team to develop the platform in a range of different contexts, most notably Cambridge.
