Rupert Griffiths is a senior research associate at Imagination, the design research lab at Lancaster University.
He is a cultural geographer with a background in architecture, urbanism, and microelectronic systems engineering and has worked extensively as an artist, designer, and curator in the UK and China.
His research considers the cultural imaginaries of urban nature. It asks how urban and humanâaltered landscapes can be made meaningfully legible as moreâthanâhuman ecologies and proposes new imaginaries that capture the diversity and multiplicity of biological, material, and technological rhythms through which our environments unfold.
