Nick Dunn is Professor of Urban Design and Executive Director of Imagination, the design and architecture research lab at Lancaster University.
He is the Founding Director of the Dark Design Lab, exploring the impacts of nocturnal activity on humans and non-humans. His research into urban futures has been funded by numerous research councils and government departments. Nick has worked with the Alliance for Healthy Cites, Design Council, DarkSky, European Commission, and the World Health Organization. He has curated exhibitions and given talks at public festivals and conferences around the world.
His recent publications include Dark Skies: Places, Practices, Communities (2023) and Flourish by Design (2023).
