Md. Abdus Salam is the Administrator of Dhaka South
Md. Mohammad Abdus Salam is a prominent Bangladeshi freedom fighter, lawyer, and political leader. Holding B.A., LL.B., and LL.M. degrees, he has built a distinguished career spanning politics, sports, education, and social welfare.
As a high-ranking politician within the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), he has served as an Advisor to the BNP Chairperson and Convener of Dhaka Metropolitan South. He also served the public as the Deputy Mayor of the undivided Dhaka City Corporation.
An influential sports administrator, Abdus Salam served as President of the Bangladesh Athletics Federation and Vice-President of the South Asian Athletics Association. Notably, he led the national delegation as Chef de Mission at the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games and the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.
His commitment to education and community development is reflected in his roles as President of Mohammadpur Central College and various school governing bodies. On the global stage, he represented Bangladesh at a UN environmental seminar in New York and the World Mayors Conference in Los Angeles. He also chairs several cooperative and corporate financial institutions.
