Dr Karam Al-Obaidi is a Senior Lecturer in Sustainable Architecture and leads the MSc course in Zero Carbon Buildings and Technologies at Sheffield Hallam University.
Karam is an architectural engineer, educator, and international researcher specialising in environmental technology and climate emergency practices within the built environment. His commitment to research and development (R&D) and passion for exploring innovative ecological solutions in the built environment define his role as a researcher and educator who advocates for net-zero transitions and socio-ecological sustainability.
His research interests include decarbonisation, building performance, energy efficiency, designing with data, sustainable retrofitting, and smart buildings and cities.
