Natsai Audrey Chieza is the Founder and CEO of Faber Futures.
Natsai is a designer and the founder of Faber Futures: a multi-disciplinary practice advocating the use of biological technologies in the response to urgent global challenges.
Since founding her studio in London in 2018, Chieza has advanced the scalable application of cutting-edge developments in biological design to the existential crises brought by climate change; from experimenting with bacterial dyes to reduce water waste in textile production, to envisioning distribution systems for these technologies to enable more equitable societies. Learning from non-human life forms in designing these sustainable futures, Chieza has brought her research to collaborators including Adidas, Ginkgo Bioworks, MIT Media Lab, and the World Economic Forum (WEF).
As a member of the WEF’s Global Futures Council on Synthetic Biology, Chieza offers insights on the integration of design and consumer culture in structuring policies towards sustainable, resilient bio-economies driven by technology. Chieza was awarded the esteemed INDEX award in 2019, and featured on the ICON Design 100 list for her front-running contributions to the world of biophilic design.
