Wales Green Transition Ecosystem event
Nov 18, 2022
Swansea University, Swansea
Future Observatory and the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) are hosting an event in Wales to launch the funding call for Green Transition Ecosystems (GTEs).
Green Transition Ecosystems are part of ARHC and Future Observatory’s three-year Future Observatory: Design the Green Transition programme. GTEs are large scale projects that focus on translating the best design-led research into real-world benefits. Capitalising on clusters of design excellence, GTEs will address distinct challenges posed by the climate crisis, including but not limited to realising net zero goals. More information about the call can be found here.
Each GTE will identify a green transition challenge(s) it’s consortium is uniquely able to address and develop a programme of research and innovation activity tailored to addressing them through high-quality, multidisciplinary and intersectoral design research. The challenge(s) each GTE seeks to address should require and promote the sustainable integration and leadership of arts and humanities design research in multidisciplinary fields of study related to net zero and the green transition.
GTEs will connect directly with the wider Future Observatory: Design the Green Transition programme.
This event will provide an opportunity for researchers in Wales to come together to learn more about the GTE scheme, as well as network with other colleagues. We welcome all interested researchers, academics and designers to attend. There will also be a GTE townhall and networking event held at the Design Museum in London on 31 January 2023.
These events will enable you to hear more about the GTE opportunity, how they are situated within the wider Future Observatory: Design the Green Transition programme, and other opportunities with AHRC’s design portfolio and Future Observatory. The event will be hosted by a panel of AHRC and Future Observatory representatives.
10:00AM start time
1. Introduction to Future Observatory: Design the Green Transition programme
2. Overview of AHRC design landscape including where the programme sits and spotlighting other opportunities outside of the programme
3. Introduction to Green Transition Ecosystems
The event is free to attend but booking is essential.
